Who we are
The Racine Community Coalition for Public Education is comprised of individuals and organizations who organize and advocate for high quality public schools. We support improved learning opportunities and outcomes for the students and families of the Racine Unified School District (RUSD).
The Coalition is currently working on two issues of importance to the community:
1) Development and implementation of restorative practices from pre-K through grade 12 and ending the traditional discipline system that results in punishment and exclusion of students from learning opportunities.
2) The elimination of the use of public tax dollars for private school vouchers and redirection of those dollars for use in the RUSD.
The Coalition also addresses current challenges the RUSD faces such as annual budget development and the need to improve State of Wisconsin funding of the district.
